Born into a colony on Terra, Ebony is the sole child of the ruling Magistrate. During her Vision of Wings (Vow) Ceremony, she was marked unwanted as a dark-born and placed into exile. She was released from isolation when she came of age to be cleansed. Escaping the ritual and fleeing Terra, Ebony made her way to the stars with a group of mercenaries. Afraid of what they might think of her, she hides her true form and tries her best to fit in while acting as the crew’s trade liaison.
Raven, born as Darien Cole, was recruited into the United Space Force (USF) under Earth command at the young age of 16. He graduated at the top of his class in combat and strategic planning from a private school funded by the USF. At 18, Darien was drafted into the Enhanced Veteran Earth Soldiers (EVES) program. After an incident that left him emotionally scarred, he deserted the USF and took command of a mercenary trade ship.
Born into a politically elevated family, Reyus and his younger sister Astaria had a strict traditional upbringing. The Brants moved from their home world, Lumora, to Stralus IV during the Lumoran migration. Caught in a struggle for power, the Brants were members of a losing faction. Forced to abandon their new home, under threat of execution, Reyus paid their way onto a mercenary trade ship. He looks after Astaria and works as a systems engineer to maintain their usefulness on board.
Astaria and her older brother, Reyus, escaped Stralus IV during a power struggle between Lumoran factions. Traumatized by the events that led to their escape, Astaria has lost her memory of it. On the trade ship they now call home, Astaria relies on Reyus to earn their keep. Despite serving no technical role on board, her child-like energy and bright demeanor have solidified her place as the crew’s little sister.
Turick is one of the last of his kind known to exist. Named by the United Space Force (USF) as terrorists responsible for the release of a deadly contagion, the Lagra’s home world was decimated. During the slaughter, Turick was separated from the few Lagra that escaped and was left behind. Facing extinction and dishonor, Turick works on board a trade ship as an enforcer while searching for his people.
Asalia Amara, known to her fans as Jade, is a popular “electro-alterna” artist famous for her hypnotizing voice and dark lyrics. She has a long, complicated history with Darien Cole (Raven). Despite traveling the galaxy on her Anon tour, she still finds time to cross paths with him.
Vaja is a former member of the crime syndicate Ghost and the daughter of one of their prime dealers. She worked as a child drug runner at the demand of her father and eventually became responsible for his capture by the United Space Force (USF). She was picked up by Raven at an illicit trading port and now works on his ship as a weapons specialist.
